The Challenges

The site’s dual role as an active construction site and part of a functioning hospital made security paramount to ensure the safety of workers, patients, and visitors.
While the hospital had its own CCTV system, it was established that additional measures were required to address potential blind spots and vulnerabilities. This extra coverage and the addition of 24/7 live monitoring gave Morgan Sindall the reassurance they needed that the site was secure.

The Solution

After a comprehensive site survey we implemented a tailored security system encompassing four BauWatch Scouts. These were strategically placed to maximise coverage and monitor the site’s most vulnerable areas.

Results and Impact

Within a week of installation, two intruders were detected by the BauWatch Scouts. The expert team in our Alarm Receiving centre (ARC) quickly raised the alarm and notified the police, who arrived on-site within 13 minutes.

The swift response led to the immediate arrest of both individuals, preventing potential theft, property damage, or harm to life. This rapid intervention helped avoid project delays and associated costs.

Additionally, the freshly constructed wall remained intact and secure. The proactive monitoring ensured the intruders did not interfere with the structure, averting a potentially dangerous incident.
